Well it's day four being at home.
It hasn't been very eventful since I've been back in Livermore. I've been organizing and cleaning mostly, but the days tend to be fairly boring because my brother sleeps till mid-afternoon, my parents work till 5 something, and I'm forced to find something productive to do.
Today, I didn't have much on my agenda so I decided to read up on Afrikaans, one of the official languages of South Africa. So far I can say "good morning", "good afternoon", "good evening", "good night", "goodbye", "what is your name?", "my name is", and "where do you come from?"
I've also been reading up on the history and tourism of Jeffrey's Bay. It's as interesting as it is beautiful. Here are some pictures I found on Jeffreysbay.com for those of you who might be wondering what Africa really looks like. No, it's not your typical white plains with zebras and elephants around every bend.
Pretty weird, right, that that's Africa?? If I didn't know better I'd say it was San Diego or somewhere near.
I'm getting more and more excited with each passing day. I've been talking to teammates about plans for Christmas and where we'll travel to, and asking questions about what everyone else is bringing, and the things that tend to make the day come quicker. In something like a month and 2 days I will be enroute to Africa!!
Goeie Middag, ya'll
