So I had the craziest day off this past Saturday. A few of us went to what we thought was going to be a concert at the local Methodist church, but it turned out to be a church bake sale, rummage sale, festival thing. I don’t even know how to describe it. Everyone there was over 50 and everything there was so Africa. It was crazy fun. They had one game where they were giving away a can of paint as first prize and a case of beer as another prize. Who does that?? What a funny experience…
There were also some boys from St. Francis who played amazing music. They played Caribbean steel drums, xylophones, and jimbe’s. It was incredible. The boys were all high school age and so very talented. My friends and I danced and just had a ball.
From there we went to an area called the Supertubes. It’s a well-known surfing spot in JBay and I think it’s the area where they have the Billabong competition every July. What a beautiful scene that was. Another one of God’s masterpieces that just blows your mind. There were shells EVERY where, the crashing green waves, the surfers, the hot sand, a nice breeze, crabs crawling on the very rocks where you sit. Gosh, there’s nothing like it.
This was the best day off. I’ll really have to try hard to beat that one.
Wow! That place sounds amazing! And in that picture of you girls eating, the girl on the opposite side looks a LOT like you at first. Your words are so beautiful, and I just love reading these blogs!
