back at all the great times I’ve had with my team and in ministry. It’s easy to
be distracted by the short amount of time left, but we still have a few weeks
as a team! Here are some of the things I definitely won’t forget about this
year…
Gold dust on my hands
Two Broken fridges, the broken shower door, the broken front
door, broken kitchen appliances, the broken shelf, broken sprinkler heads, and
the smelly cabinet in our room. How is it that so much fell apart?
Holy Spirit
Sleeping over in the township
Hanging out with old people for the day
Harmonizing with Sara as we sing “Faithful”
Sleeping in a room with 8 other girls
The drama ministry
Being empowered by both Firehouse leaders and our leaders
A multitude of crazy family nights including bingo while
dressed like an old person, Olympics, playing cops and robbers in the park,
Hawaiian luau birthday party, bowling
Living in a house of 15
Dance parties in our room
ATL’s
Teaching at Route and speaking at Firehouse
Discipling Donna
Driving through Cape Town and
all the roads were called “Corfu”
Praying with Meghan every Monday and Wednesday before
ministry
Swimming lessons with Tannie Jessica and Tannie Leah
Playing “bigger and better” and receiving a fridge!
Reading a ton of books for discipleship
Unlocking the key to fasting
CCMP and the toddlers
Coffee after Firehouse, coffee after church, coffee after
Route
Quiet times with God on the beach
Cape St. Francis with the
Firehouse girls
The quote book
Daniel making unexpected visits
Funny South African phrases such as “shOH!”, “Yoh!”, “Aye
man!” and saying “Mmm” while raising eyebrows in order to say “yes”.
Going to Mugg & Bean every Friday for internet
Driving on the “wrong” side of the road
Johanna always being pregnant (pretend pregnant of course)
“Are we going to swim today, tannie?” (I wish you could hear
it with the accent, it’s so cute)
Pranks with Carmen and Cheré!
(more recently, i.e. today) Driving manual with Matt and
burning the clutch. That car was so difficult to find the gears!
Leah, the whirlwind of activity will be picking up soon. It is great that you took the time to jot down your memories. Your Parents!!! Isn’t that wonderful?! You are going to have so much fun seeing them and spending time with them in your surroundings. What a rethat will be. Kiss them, Kiss them, and Kiss them again. I pray your time together will be filled with God’s Blessings and Joy, encompassing your very bodies as setting a guard around you all. Allowing not one thing that does not come from Him close to your visit.
Enjoy eachother. Love You Much, Joyce
